Issues Faced by Domestic Animals in India
There are numerous issues faced by the domestic Animals in India. The poor economic conditions and illiteracy of the farmers as well as a lack of awareness about proper Health & Hygiene methods to be adopted for animals contribute to these following issues:
Diseases
* Abandoning of Diseased animals or worse… slaughtering of the same
* Lack of proper treatment facilities
* Insufficient number of Medical Centers & Staff
* Adopting various traditional practices to cure diseases which are either painful or insufficient to handle their condition.
* Usage of wrong medication / over dose of medicines leading to side effects or worse.. Death
* Lack of awareness / Neglect of signals from disease symptoms
* Treatment of incompetent practitioners adopted

* Lack of Regular Care / Treatment
* Physical & Behavioral Stress
Cruelty / Slaughtering of Animals
* Animals slaughtered to procure meat, horns, fat and other body substances for manufacture of cosmetics or medicines
* Lack of Pasture lands
* Lack of Grazing lands
